Scott Gwilliam co-founded Keystone Capital in 1994 and serves as the Managing Partner of the firm. Over its 30-year history, Keystone has launched 42 different platforms and completed over 175 transactions. For the first 27 years, the Principals of Keystone solely invested their own personal capital, building 31 businesses. In 2021, Keystone closed on its first institutional fund with $420MM of commitments and most recently, raised its second institutional fund with $630MM from endowments, foundations, pensions, and high net worth families. Most notably, the Principals of Keystone continue to be the largest investor in each of their funds.

Scott currently serves on the following Keystone Board’s: Merge, a full service, national marketing agency; Inspire11, a digital transformation and analytics consulting firm; Clearwater, an outsourced operations and maintenance firm for municipal public works; Scott Group, a luxury consumer brands business, and Tribute Baking, a manufacturer of baked goods for retail and food service.

Prior to joining Keystone, Scott was a member of the investment banking and corporate finance department of Kidder, Peabody & Company where he was involved in initial public offerings, mergers and acquisitions and corporate restructurings. He also worked at Madison Dearborn Partners, Inc., a Chicago private equity firm.

Scott earned a Bachelor of Science degree in finance from the McIntire School of Commerce at the University of Virginia and an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University. Scott currently serves on the civic Board of the Northwestern Memorial Hospital Network where he serves on the Investment Committee for both the hospital endowment and the employee pension plan. He serves as the Vice Chairman of the McIntire School of Commerce Advisory Board at the University of Virginia. Scott also serves on the Congressionally created Foundation for America’s Public Land Board. Lastly, he serves on the Board of PX, a NYSE publicly traded alternative investment manager where he Chairs the Governance Committee.
